Your privacy is important to us. QuranBro is designed with a privacy-first approach — we collect only the minimum data needed to make the app work and improve your experience. We do not sell your data, display advertisements, or share personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
1. Who We Are
QuranBro is an independent Quran reading and learning application available on Android and iOS. If you have any questions about this policy, you can reach us at quranbro.app@gmail.com.
2. Data We Collect
QuranBro collects only the following categories of data:
| Data Type | Examples | Purpose | Stored |
|---|---|---|---|
| App Preferences | Theme, font size, language, reciter selection | Personalize your experience | On-device only |
| Reading Progress | Last-read surah, ayah bookmark | Resume where you left off | On-device only |
| Goals & Insights | Daily reading goal, streak count, completion history | Track your Quran reading habits | On-device only |
| Crash & Performance Reports | Stack traces, device model, OS version, app version | Fix bugs and improve stability | Firebase (anonymized) |
3. How We Use Your Data
- Restore your reading position and preferences across app launches
- Display personalized insights and reading streaks
- Send goal-reminder notifications (only if you enable them)
- Diagnose crashes and improve app performance via Firebase Crashlytics
4. Third-Party Services
QuranBro uses the following third-party services:
- Firebase Crashlytics & Performance (Google) — collects anonymized crash reports and performance traces. No personally identifiable information is included. Governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
We do not integrate any advertising SDKs, social-media tracking pixels, or third-party analytics beyond the above.
5. Push Notifications
If you set a daily reading goal, QuranBro can send a local reminder notification at your chosen time. These notifications are generated and delivered entirely on-device — no push tokens or notification content are sent to our servers. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
6. Data Storage & Security
- All preferences, progress, and goals are stored locally using DataStore and Room Multiplatform
- Local data is sandboxed within the app and is not accessible to other apps
- Crash reports transmitted to Firebase are encrypted in transit (TLS)
- We retain crash and performance data for up to 90 days, after which it is automatically deleted
7. Children's Privacy
QuranBro does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). Because no account or personal data is required to use the app, it is safe for users of all ages. If you believe a child has somehow provided us personal data, please contact us so we can address it promptly.
8. Your Rights
Because virtually all data is stored only on your device, you have full control:
- Clear all app data at any time via your device settings
- Uninstall the app to remove all locally stored data permanently
- Opt out of crash reporting by disabling analytics in the app settings (if available) or contacting us
Users in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or California may have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA. Contact us to exercise any of these rights.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you through the app. Continued use of QuranBro after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
